I got a little bored today at work.

I just ordered this chuck arbor setup, it mounts in a 3/4" collet and I think it is a fair price for the chuck, key and arbor. It's range is 0 to 1/4".

I have found a bunch of import 1JT chucks 0-1/4" capacity but no one lists length so Im not sure if they will get me the clearance I am looking for.

If you are looking the deals on 1JT and up chucks they can be found at Grizzly and Shars (they both have basically the same stuff) and you can get a chuck and arbor for $20-30 but their shipping is expensive $9-14 and since I just placed an order with them last week I cant bring myself to spend another $10 on shipping when I only need one thing.

I'll be using this Vertex dividing head to rotate the gear blank, I will have it mounted on a mandrel between centers, but I will be using a involute cutter not a hob.

That's the tool holding setup I use on my mill....which oddly enough is a Tormach.

I am very pleased with this little drill chuck / arbor setup, works great and it is compact as well .

OK quick question.
Does any one here use Gibbs SFP? If so can i take a simple 2d image and import it into the program and have it plot for the cnc? What kind of file would the image have to be?
It is too hard of an image to plot out manually.
Thank you.

I've used GibbsCAM to do this before. I haven't used SFP though.
