Default Soldering Iron purchase

So I've realized the need for a soldering iron, not just for RC but for a lot of things that I do, and I wanted some help on purchasing one. Basically I just wanted to know if anyone has the iron I was looking at: Digital Soldering Station : Soldering tools & supplies | RadioShack.com

Since I know virtually nothing about soldering irons, besides how to use them, I am not sure if this would be a good iron to get. Furthermore I would love to know how this thing compares to the Hakko FX-888. I am under the impression that the 888 is almost catered specifically for the RC world. Thanks ahead of time for any help, and crawl safe*!

I have a feeling that the Hakko FX888 would be a much better choice...

I have the TrakPower TK-950, and it works great for me. But that station from Radio Shack looks like it would sure do the job.
