Beat me to that one. HAHAHA. As for a smaller tip you can't get much, if any smaller than the one this station comes with. It would be nice if they would offer a few different size tips for it.

Thought I'd post up my observations on these as well. Picked one up from the Aussie warehouse a couple of weeks ago and the things gotten almost daily use since on everything from PCBs to building sub c battery packs. If you hunt on evilbay you can pick up a full set of 10 tips or so for around $10AUD. It works just as well as the Hakko fx888 i use at work, heats up in the same length of time, holds its temp extremely well. The only problem I've had so far is the ceramic heating element on mine was chipped from new. Doesn't seem to effect the way it works at all, but i will be replacing the element with a genuine Hakko one soon enough. All in all an awesome buy for around $20 delivered. |

Ok I'm the first complaint. It came in yesterday and had the Japanese plug on it. Tried to change that to an American plug and can not figure out the wiring color codes. Blew the breaker completely out of socket. Found out this thing is running on 240Zv instead of 110. What the hell is up with that crap? Second I tried 6 different style Hakko tips and none would work. I'm stuck with the little pin point tip it came with. Yes this is the Aiuha 936 or how ever the hell you say that word. It came from the hobby king hong kong warehouse. It's being shipped back today and a new hakko 888 is on the way.

You should have ordered it within the US. You tried rewiring the plug and didn't know how but, still plugged it into the wall? Your lucky you didn't burn the place to the ground! I've been using mine for months with great success. I just ground down the tip it came with to my liking. Works great. |

The order on hobby king says "with AUS plug" but box says with china plug. I just called radio shack and they said they have australia/china adapter plug. Is this what I'm supposed to get? However I have tried Hakko, weller and radio shack tips with no success. |

A lot of the world uses 220VAC vs. North America that uses 110VAC.  To wire "world standard" colors, look for similar colors in terms of shade. US Black = World Brown US white = World Blue US green = World Green w/yellow stripe Works for a lot of equipment. But, you MUST look at the input voltage!!!!   | |
