I just used model glue when I built my truggy cages for my micro crawler and after it dries in a day or two it's pretty strong. But you have to let it dry completely, it's a little soft the first couple of hours.

| Re: Glue Trick from an old static modeler: Thinly drop on a few tacks of superglue, let dry then use Model Cement. Same bond and not the same problem of long periods of holding parts waiting for initial bond when using Model Cement.

Cool! I used to do static models for many years but I'd use different types of glue and it being static it wasn't as important for it to be as strong as glueing plastic for an rc car so I wasn't sure what type of glue would hold up to the abuse with a crawler

Oh, so that's why it got soft. I just gobbed a bunch on, at least it's strong. I didn't really care how long it took to dry I just wanted to get it done.

Depends what you are doing.... Gluing is fine for static models "Testors plastic model cement" and or "super glue" will be fine for gluing static models ___ You NEED to bond things for RC use Either with "Weld-On 45" or "Polycarbonate Cement SC-325" will do well for bonding lexan Products like "Tenax 7R" or "Plastruct Plasticweld" or other similar CA products work well for bonding styrene . |
