It would hang too far off of the rotary table and hit the column on its way around.

You are brave trusting a drill press vise. I've broken a couple, and they do not seen to have the best holding power.

I've done some work to this one to get it tightened up, and it doesn't need to be cranked down too hard...

Kapow!

Going to use Axial beadlocks and drill them out for 12 bolts, then de-ano and semi-polish them to match.

Didn't have the proper bit to countersink the bolts, so that'll come later. Otherwise, they're done.

Moar.

Too bad they're junk.

I didn't have this issue with the last set, but these are not reclocking properly once they come out of the vice. I'm guessing its because the stock is way further out of round than the aluminum was.

No, it wasn't the table...I'm not sure exactly what it was. I will definitely give it another go, just need to sort out the fixture some more, or change my process.

despite being out of time, I love the design... these will be a sick wheel when you get it figured out. I really like the design of both sets so far. I bought 6 inches of white Delrin a few weeks ago and it was so far out of round it was visible when spinning at low rpm's. Fortunately I could take off enough to get it round and not interfere with my part.

Can you turn off a few thou before starting on the mill, or is pretty much to size already?

After some careful measuring and inspecting...it was my goof after all. Nothing left to do but take those lemons and make lemonade.

Now I need to come up with a way to index the wheels the same way every time they go in/out of the fixture.
