No, three wires is standard for sensorless brushless motors. If it were sensored, it would have another wire harness in addition to those three wires.

I saw that it said "540-S" and had three wires, so I thought there might be a sensor port hiding somewhere on the backside out of sight.

Are these shorter Revolvers quieter? In theory they should be because there's less can to amplify the sound, right?

Thanks! These will be sensorless, but im going to attempt sensored housing design again in 3ish months. I know the hurdles, but maybe it will work better with some fresh angles of attack.

Been fiddling with the dyno today. stock axial wraith 1.9 ESC vs BRXL. BRXL allows higher peak torque, has higher peak rpm, and makes more power on a trailmaster sport 540 27t. I think the differences would be even more evident as the motors get nicer.

15% boost of peak torque, I would consider that substantial!

One more for today. Stock 35t motor vs TrailMaster Sport 35t 540. This dyno isn't very fast switching motors out, but once I got into a groove it doesn't take too long.


The stall torque increase is from better materials. The higher power is due to higher efficiency , which is from better materials

Seeing proof of performance increases like this for certain ESCs and motors is something that should be advertised more...

i purchased the Puller Pro BL 540 XL 2100kv, what ESC's can i and should i pair this with?

Well, my first CNC setup lasted 7 years, not too bad of a run. I started having issues with the controller, and since it is bipolar there isn't really a lot I can do to replace discrete components without scrapping the whole system. The old computer with printer port is still rocking though. That is a testimate to how stable a computer is when it is not hooked to the internet and doesn't receive constant software updates.

So I've been hankering for another CNC. I really miss the big lathe, and have just been using the mill in manual mode. I would like to re-outfit the mill, but a router would do most of the work I need. For the price of re-equipping the Taig, I can get a complete router with more working space too. The hobby CNC market has come a long way thanks in part to 3d printers.

But first, I need an updated CAM solution for my updated Solidworks. HSMworks is still a free 2.5d machining software and will do for my needs of integration into Solidworks 2016. https://www.autodesk.com/campaigns/hsmxpress-download

And now, for the router. I think a Fortis is not a bad choice but I will do a little more research. Only 50mm of Z but I still have the mill if Z height is needed more than table size. https://folgertech.com/products/folg...tis-hd-cnc-kit.
