Easy Tool for RC4WD Scale Hex Bolts

Are you running the RC4WD scale hex bolts on your scaler?


Are you tired of breaking the tool to install them? Well, all you need is a driveshaft set screw pin from a Traxxas Revo (see post #3 below) and a washer. Braze the washer to the set screw as shown. You'll see I also trimmed down the screw threads since they're no longer needed and they now fit better into Locked Up RC's beadlock rings.


And voila! The Tommy Tool! Works like a charm and now I can easily snug up those little lug bolts with nothing stripping!

You just gotta love when a part turns into a tool... that's awesome, clever, and cool all at once. now make it so it will fit your power driver and you're set.

Thanks! What works even better than a power driver is just having another unmodified set screw around. Use that as a tool to quickly spin the nuts into place (it's surprisingly fast!) and then use the tool to snug them to the desired torque. It actually works really well and is pretty darn quick, too!
