Default Soldering Temps?

So I just got a new soldering station and I'm wondering what temps to set for different applications. Motor wires, servo wires, esc work, ect.

Which station?

If it doesn't heat what you need to solder in 1-2 seconds then you need to crank up the heat. I don't do any set temp stuff, just go by the way the solder melts

Most everything I solder gets done between 825-850. I will change tips more than the temperature. I like to use a fatter tip for heavier wire on things like battery connectors and motor leads. The bigger tip helps hold heat better when you start soldering. That way you can get in and get out quickly without holding the heat on too long and heating up the entire assembly.

also some solders have lower temps than others, I have 3 different ones I use, lower temp stuff for smaller more delicate and high temp for deans and motor wires.

generally you wanna use the hottest heat you can with out causing damage. this allows the solder to get into the wire and prevent a cold solder which is weak and is a poor conductor.
