..... or did you specifically mention the boat because this part is for the boat?

Which would make the keel weight guess a pretty good one.

As you can see, I've used both ends and they work beautifully.
I made it because it's not your typical size iron tip, 3/8'' is rather large compared to many of the other models on the market. The reason for the two different ends is, the point is used to heat up the larger, 6mm, bullet connectors with a hole in the pocket. The con-caved end is for the bullets with out the hole. I have both kinds of bullets, so I tinned and soldered everything with the point first. Turned off the iron and flipped the tip and started soldering again with the con-caved end.

Not only cool, but functional as well.

It's made out of brass. It takes awhile to tin the tip, but who cares It works great.
