| Re-arch leaf springs
hey guys I'd like to re-arch my TF2 leaf springs to give them a little more lift. I have a small slip roll machine, but i know it prob wont do mush with the spring steel as it is. Is there a way to heat treat the spring steel to make it bendable, bend it, the re-harden it? thanx |

They make small lift blocks for the tf2. RC4WD and I think blue monkey, or you could just make some. |

I have a few lift blocks laying around over here if you want em. Easy enough to make a set too.

Just give em a tweak around your thumb..... It shouldn't take much. To match them up, set them upside down on the bench, bend one to where you think it should be, then match up the rest of em...... Lift blocks put extra stress/leverage on the leaf springs causing them to flatten or even "s" shape faster..... food for thought.... Last edited by trevinator; 05-05-2013 at 11:27 AM. Heat to color, normalize (just re-heating until color, then letting it lose color on it's own), quench in oil, temper. This guy's vids are fantastic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3CnwUQZ6q78 | |
