| does the temperature of the air effect silver soldering and does the joint have to be smooth before soldering? this weekend i tried puting together my new tuber but i had one hell of a time getting the solder to stick to the brakeline. this is not my first tub truck so i pretty much no how to do everything, i sanded the joints good, used flux, didn't overheat the metal or anything it just didn't want to cooperate. the only things i did different was sand the joints with a cutting bit on the dremel which left them very rough and that it was cold and windy outside when i did it. im gonna grind everything down and start over this week when i find time. does anyone know whats going on? |

| when silver solder/brazing you have to clean the joint with sand paper/emery cloth, then wipe it. apply the flux, heat, then brazing wire. brazing how-to http://www.rccrawler.com/tuber.htm |
