| Metric Ignition Wrenches are Excellent for Our Hobby
As someone who loves tools, I'm always on the lookout for something new. This time, I found something old... At a local yard sale, someone was selling a nice little set of Craftsman open ended metric ignition wrenches. As soon as I saw them, I knew they'd be perfect for wrenching on an RC. The yard sale asking price was only $5, but I did what you are SUPPOSED TO DO at a yard sale and offered less. I walked away with my prize for only $3. I've only had these wrenches a week and already used them a couple of times. They are small, light and quite thin. The two different angled heads are usually able to access any location I need. Although I have RC-specific metric wrenches which cost a lot more, I find myself going to these over those. I bring this up to our forum because even the new retail price of this set is very affordable at only $12 USD from Sears. For someone in this hobby who still needs a set of small metric wrenches for their kit, or who wants a better set, these are awesome! Highly recommended. |

I have some of those. I broke the 5.5, brought it back to Sears for a replacement, the salesperson said I had to bring the whole set in for a replacement... I said what if I don't have the whole set, he said well I guess that's tough... Not impressed at all with him, probably just a misinformed salesperson. I also needed a 12mm 12 point, they were out of singles. I asked him to open a set, oh, we don't do that. Annnd he wouldn't trade it for a 6 point either. I drove 50 miles to get nothing. |

| Re: Metric Ignition Wrenches are Excellent for Our Hobby That's very frustrating - a real shame. I'm old enough to remember when Sears was a solid store. It's no longer what it used to be. They are barely hanging on. Just to stay competitive, they have to hire the cheapest help they can get. Now it's a crap shoot. I've heard plenty of other stories like yours about not getting appropriate customer support. On the opposite side of that coin, my daughter once took back an electric screwdriver that quit working. Those are NOT guaranteed for life. She did not even have a receipt, but the driver said CRAFTSMAN on it, so the salesperson replaced it. It was probably some kid who either didn't care about the store's bottom line or who wanted to impress my daughter. It's like that more and more. Try getting decent help at a big box store with a blue L or an orange H. Not much chance of it unless you get lucky with the right salesperson. |
