Default Screw Extractor

Looking for some guidance on an extractor tool for a M2 X 10mm hex cap screw. I stripped the head out when it was about 90% screwed down. I tried the trick of driving a torn into it to back it out, but only was able to back it out a little ways before it stripped to the point where that method didn't work. The screw is about 70% down now. It's one of the screws on the diff cover on the Wraith that I'm building, so it's too close to the cover to be able to grab it and try to turn it with needle nose pliers or anything.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Try taking a dremel or something similar and cutting a slot in the head of the screw with a cutoff wheel and using a flat head screwdriver to get it out.

I've used that method in the past. The problem is that the head of the screw is right by the outer wall of the VP diff cover. I can't get in there to slot the cover without cutting into the cover - something i would like to avoid. I have the smallest EZ out and Grab-It bits they make, I think. Still too big to get it.

Have you tried using a torx? sometimes you can jam one in enough for it to grab. You might also try heating it a bit with a soldering iron, but be careful if the housing is plastic.

I'll post up some pics tonight. I did try a Torx and that's how I was able to back it out a little before it stripped some more.
