Default buidling a tube chasis. got a question

I've been reading and what type of diameters would you all suggest for the chassis and bracing. I know to use a smaller diameter for the braces but not sure yet what the scale size is. I'll prob use tube for most of it and only solid in a few places. I guess I'll use alum mostly.
Any suggestions? I have plenty of exp building rol cages and fab on 1:1 scale vehicles.

Sorry forgot that. I'm doing a clod. I know more about them from years ago. Working on buying one now for the axles and goodies and I'll build from there.

You should probably use 1/4. depending how "scale" you want it to look you could use 3/8 also.

I'm planning to use 1/4 for the 4 link and maybe 3/8 for the chassis? I'm not sure what would be scale correct

If 1:1 tube buggy has 2" tubing and you are going for 1/10 scale, then just over 3/16" tubing would be scale.
If you are building a super crawler with a 16" wb or so, then that's more like 1:8 scale, so about 1/4" tubing would be scale.

I'm about to build a 1/5th scale tuber and basing it on my 1:1. The chassis is 1 1/2" OD so I am using 5/16" aluminum rod. My links are 1 1/4" OD , so my links will be 1/4" rod.

Here is the formula and example of how I am figuring component/chassis dimensions for a 1/5th scale build............

1/16" = .0625

1.50" divided by 5 = .30

.30 divided by .0625 = 4.8, rounded up to 5 and then 5 X 1/16" = 5/16"

or 100" wheelbase would be 20" for 1/5th scale and so on..........

Of course some things just won't work well, such as I have gussets on my 1:1 chassis that are 1/4" plate........and rather then use aluminum plate that is 3/64"...I've chosen to use 1/16" & 1/8" sheet aluminum depending if it actually is a true part of the structure that will indeed be carrying a load or just for authenticity/aesthetics of the original 1:1 vehicle.
