Default materials/ procedure questions

I am planning on making my pti into a leaf sprung scaler.
I need to know where I can get my hands on some decent metals. Lowes only has steel sheets that are partially rusty and flimsy, or thin even flimsier alluminum.
Where can I get some alluminum that the sw2 or the bulu is made of? I am planning on making the chassis out of the same shape material that the horizontal beams of the pti chassis are.
What kind of thread are the machine screws? 4-40?
To bend metal with a nice crease, what do you guys do? I have a vice, but I get a rounded bend.

that doesnt help, i have already used the search, and it did not find any useful information. if they are easy questions it should take one of you builders ten seconds to answer.
