You can do mapp and oxy, home depot actually sells a mapp-oxy bernzomatic kit for $49.99. It's right next to the mapp kits and the propane kits. Oxy is in the red tank.

Why even mess with mixing? Straight MAPP works great.

It runs out fast, but when brazing a thinner material to a thicker material, it allows you to get the thicker material hot fast, then add heat to the thinner material. That way by the time you heat up the thick stuff, you haven't melted the other

low pressure oxy (like whats in the little red canisters from home depot) does run out fast, but with mapp or acetylene on a small torch it will get hot enough to cut through most light gauge metals, which can be handy. You dont need it put its nice to have around. If you have a set of bottles though, you can buy a small brazing torch and that works much better and last much longer because the bottles are around 2000psi.

Alot of people like to crank up on the oxygen as well. I try to adjust my Mapp gas to my oxy rather then the opposite. Little bit of both and were good to go. I've don't about 2 says worth of brazing so far and I'm still on the same bottles. I think there still half full as well.

Now is this straight O2 or just compressed air? I am guessing O2, but I sure would like to be wrong.
