Limited Slip Differential; options? Hey all, I am looking for all the options that anyone knows to make a helical Tamiya diff work as a reliable LSD. A locked diff would not work as I am planning a build around converting my XV-01 into a proper 4wd with LSD Subaru Brat. I want it to be more or less stock, so the 1:1 had LSD 4wd (AWD) and I really want to get all the options on the table before I move forward. I have considered a heavy weight silicone diff oil, maybe 100k, but I have read about that not being terribly reliable as a LSD option. I have also read about the inevitable leakage that comes with silicone. I also ran across a product called "Bad Horsie Diff Locking Grease" but I can't find any sort of reliable review of the stuff, not to mention that I am not terribly comfortable with doing business with small "mom & pop" companies on the internet. I have not ruled these out, but any over the counter, or reliable company purchases would be favorable. Obviously a DIY solution is totally acceptable. Additionally I hope that the information that could be provided could help others with a similar problem. |

Re: Limited Slip Differential; options? Interesting, basically a super thick silicone. has your friend reported any issues with leakage of any kind from the diff fluid (or gel in this case)? *edit* Also isn't that effectively RTV silicone gel, but for $15 instead of $2? |
