Tower has a flyer for them in every order I get, I like the idea of a multi capable machine. Was thinking if or when I look around for something a little more capable than a Dremel I might look into one of these.

I have looked into a smaller 3 in 1 machine and shelved the idea in favor of waiting for a Smithy. I have a 1:1 drag car and the smithy has the capacity to handle a lot of fabrication for the big stuff as well as beibg very handy for the scale stuff. I am leaning towards the 1340 Granite (longer bed)

The major downside to these is that the mill doesnt have a knee, a separate mill and lathe is just better. This is better than nothing though, and I have seen some really beautifull stuff made on cheap asian made little 3 in 1's.......like a 24 cylinder rotary engine.

for about $1100 you can get a small mill and a small lathe from HArbor Freight. They're good for small stuff only though. they just had the mill on sale for $379 awhile ago...

I have a HF 3-in-1 machine and it does everything I have ever needed it to do in this and many other hobbies.... including Links, chassis and small parts... works great for alum and delrin... even mild steel.... if you not mass producing stuff it works perfect.... heres mine....
