Thin 7mm socket for hub/wheel nut? So I bought a set of used beadlock wheels. The problem is I can't find a socket that is small enough on the outside to fit. I files my plastic wrench that came with the kit. But it seems that one is slipping now. |
Re: Thin 7mm socket for hub/wheel nut? Depends on the size of the axle nut. Grind down a 7mm socket to fit. It will be super close to fitting/taking too much socket material. I found and use a 7mm orange handle 7mm O'Donnell driver that fits. Or http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/enrou...ml#post2701203 Maybe? Re: Thin 7mm socket for hub/wheel nut? I almost wonder if there's a smaller size nut that would still fit the threaded shaft. |

Re: Thin 7mm socket for hub/wheel nut? I bought this wrench from Yeah racing. Never been a nut driver fan, hard to get enough torque through a screwdriver handle. Wanted something similar to the big wrenches for 1/8 scale buggy nuts and better than a kit wrench so far pretty pleased. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y72...pss3ngrxro.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y72...psx8mmgkyp.jpg |
Re: Thin 7mm socket for hub/wheel nut? i ended up picking up one of these kits with my latest rpp order because i was sick of dealing with crappy harbor freight tools https://www.rpphobby.com/ProductDeta...tCode=KXST0051 i know you are just looking for a solution for axle nuts (which this has) but its everything you would need in one handy little case :) |
Re: Thin 7mm socket for hub/wheel nut? I'm always into spending money, but couldn't you guys just buy the cheap traxxas cross-wrench/wheel-wrench. I got one with my mini-erevo, been using it for my SLWs with no issues. If you check eBay they even come with the rest of the Allan keys that every other traxxas what-have-you comes with. |
