| Here's another w/ me standing beside it. It's a 5 axis cnc horizontal boring mill, has 120" of travel in "X" axis. Spindle was just under 10 feet tall at home position, if I remember right. This machine is sooooooo powerfull it was scary at times. I remember taking cuts in steel w/ an 8" facemill buried 1/2" deep, full width of facemill, just raining chips EVERYWHERE! This was my baby for about 2 years. Figured you guys might get a kick out of it.

Eric113, the part on the machine is a plating chamber. For gold plating, it's all welded stainless steel. This one is a drum design w/ a huge cap that seals the end via o-ring grooves. These had 2 o-ring grooves side by side, it wasn't uncommon to have one tool run for a whole 10 hour shift. We machined a lot of BIG weldments for assorted companies.

I was thinking some 1/36th scale beadlocks. These pics are from a shop I used to work at a couple years ago. I'm no longer with them. They could fit another one of these mills right beside this one if they ditched some of the older machines/boat anchors they have.

Cool mill, we just got a TOS 5 axis boring mill last year, its very similar to that one, and I know how you feel about the "boat anchors" taking up space, our shop is full of them.
