Hitachi makes a really nice power screwdriver. The handle moves so it can be like a drill or a straight screwdriver. I really like it.

I run this exact model here. It rocks. Gives my tennis elbow a break.

That's the one I chose. I wouldn't necessarily call it "very good", but it's certainly adequate. It's been serving me well so far.

This is the one I use. I specifically wanted a pink one, to remind me of how much of a bitch I am when I don't feel like using my hands to power an actual driver.

Can't say I'd recommend using the vanquish drivers. This was my first time using the 1.5mm bit into plastic. Customer service told me it was not warrantied. I had no reason to try these other than curiosity. Lesson learned. Stick with mip

And I get that and it won't stop me from buying VP in the future. But my mip's haven't even given me so much as a hiccup in 8yrs so I'll stick with what works.

I had specifically asked VP (many times) what grade tool steel their driver bits were made from, and they cannot answer.
The tips themselves are taiwanese, so perhaps they don't really know the steel grade.

That said I do like mine, but most 1.5 drivers are fragile. Best 1.5mm tips I've used are OFNA, but I never drive fasteners this size with power tools.

That is laughable. Their tool snaps after one use and they won't warranty it? That's just bullshit.

Yeah tools get hard use. No shit. But good tools are covered even under hard use.

Umm why would you go back to a company that treats you like this? They won't stand good for a brand new tool so what makes you think they're going to stand good for anything else in the future?

How do you know the tips are Taiwanese? Do they state it right on them?

So much for VP being all American all the time.

That's great, but when a company doesn't stand behind their products I give up on them just like they gave up on me, as a customer.

Sorry, good for the $$$ Most other name brand companies sell almost same driver for little more than double the price and we all know where they are both made.

Old thread, but I've been on the hunt for a driver myself. I've got Milwaukee M12 Fuel drill and impacts, but they're way too heavy and powerful for an RC imo.

I ran across this at Wal-Mart for about $30. It's just what I was looking for. Small, light, easy to handle and only runs at 180rpm. It does NOT have a clutch, so I don't run screws down tight with it, just run the slack out and finish with a manual MIP driver.

1.9 TSL XL for size reference.
