| Nut Drivers..
Picked up a Cross-Rc truck that is loaded with metric nuts, as are many of the beadlock wheels these days. What recommendation do you guys have for a quality set of nut drivers? I’ve checked local home improvement stores but none are small enough for that tiny heads found on beadlocks etc. Thank you. |

I would say to choose a handle shape that you think will appeal to you and go for a name like MIP, Hudy, or Dynamite. Maybe worth mentioning that some popular manufactures have a high-end as well as cheap-o set. Personally I'm not as concerned with my nut drivers being great quality as much as I am my hex drivers... but rarely do I ever regret having a reliable tool on hand so I'd still get something decent. I've read great reviews on Arrowmax and Protek nut-drivers as well but never used their stuff.

Wiha makes some nice ones, I finally had to break down and buy a 2mm since my cheap Dynamite kit only went down to 4mm.

Really happy with these "Wera" drivers I got. I'm not sure what happened with "Wiha" but their quality went down the drain. Went through 3 sets of drivers. Finally ordered myself some Vanquish hex drivers, and Wera for nuts.

Nut drivers aren't as important as hex drivers. The nut drivers don't strip out nor do they strip nuts. I've been using the same Duratrax nut driver set for years.

I’m with daign on this one. I like Wera Kraftform really well. They have comfortable handles. If you’re looking for a specific tiny size as you indicated your options may be limited.

Im tempted to grab the MIP 5.5 and 7 just to match the hex drivers I like so much.

I picked up 5.5 and 7mm Wiha drivers at my local Grainger for a few bucks each. Way cheaper than anything else I could find and great quality.

A lot of peeople think that the nut drivers are not as important as the hex drivers, to have a quality set. I agree to an extent. The cheaper ones tend to have very thick walls. If you are limited on clearance around the nut such as inside a wheel hub you could be in trouble. Even on my carbon fiber chassis there are some very close areas that a cheap nut driver just wont work. I have MIP tools and they are all very good quality. |
