Default Anodize, paint, or powder coat wheels?

I have a set of silver aluminum wheels, I would like them red.

What are my options for the most durable finish to change the color?

Hard anodize is tough and will look the best. Powdercoat is also durable, but it doesn't look as good on wheels IMO.

Unless you got a buddy that does anodizing or powder coating or find a shop that can throw your wheels in with another order, you may find the cost of the finishing approaching the cost of a new set of red wheels.

Eh there are some vendors that will do it much cheaper than others. For example, yesterday at work we got two anodizing quotes. One was $70 and the other was $275.

My PM to him was weeks ago. A great way to lose both existing and potential customers is to ignore them.

Most durable, Anodized. Easiest, painted, and most economical, paint. Not that hard really. Wheels usually don;t take too much brunt (except say the beadlock ring). I painted beadlock rings and they only have a few small chips. They actually held up quite well. Just make sure you use some etch primer before the base coat. They do have 2 part clear coat that is impact resistant too. Most likely though unless you have HVLP spray guns you would use something like the SPraymax clears (2 part in a can).
