Default Keeping track of foams / tires

Most of us run multiple wheel/tire combos on any given day and different foams from front to rear. Sure, you can try and go by squeeze or feel, but I've found unless it's a fairly big difference in foams, you're pretty well guessing.

Anyway, what I do any time I mount up new tires and foams, is mark the rear wheelset. I use a red sharpie, or even some red paint and color the inside of the hub. (Red for Rear - R for R).

Takes the guess work right of it for me and then I'm 100% sure I've got the wheels where they need to be front to back.

I've been marking them with sharpie. Red paint is smarter. Thanks for the tip.

Similar story here but I use a silver sharpie to mark the inside face of the rim and I mark both front & rear.

Not because I run multiple sets in a day or even in a month, but more because I often have all 4 wheels off while I'm wrenching.

I use a silver paint pen on black wheels, or black on everything else. I put "S" for soft outer, "M" for medium, and add a "+" if there's any weights inside. I don't bother marking the closed celled ones since they're very obviously firmer.

I take a soldering iron and "brand" the front 2 tires in some fashion since I've found that sharpie sometimes gets rubbed off.

This, but some I can remember without marking because they are so unique.

I do black Sharpie on the inside of the tire or inside of the rim if possible.

Yup just sharpie the inside of the wheels. I've bought some tire & wheel combos used from CI and eddie uses a label maker to list what foams are inside the tires.

I am kind of a goober and use a spread sheet. I have quite a collection of cars so keep track of all their specs, oil wts, electronics, setups, tricks and even "reapairs needed" in Excel. Also have a column of unused build parts to know whats available without digging through tubs. Its kind of fun on its own actually.

I mark the inside of the front wheel hub's so its not very visible when installed.
