Interesting. I don't think this would help me at all. I usually lay my body in a cardboard box and paint away. Never while holding it.

This will help when needing to hold things perfect, like when cutting out the tape lines inside the shell at odd angles, Tape wads will fall off.

More designed for a professional tool box as how many bodies do You (not me)do in a year?

For me, I'd need a 3rd hand body holder. I usually apply tape/masking with 2 hands if possible.

2 1/4 inch diameter is about perfect too, hopefully the mechanical suction created wouldn't create any creases. For a couple bucks I'm down to get one next harbor freight trip.
