| Time-sert thread repair https://youtu.be/anjDQJtWFc8 Came across this on YouTube. It is an interesting take on thread repair and features easy removal though I'm not too sure how the locking effect would work in plastic. I'm pretty sure that the removal using an Ezy-out would be tricky in plastic as well. Has anyone tried using the self-tapping inserts as shown in plastic? Sent from my LG-H870DS using Tapatalk |

I use these, they seem to be better suited for plastic: https://www.fastenal.com/products/details/11126009 https://www.fastenal.com/products/details/0185930 |

Unless it's a rare part, why not just replace the plastic piece? Or if you're screwing it frequently, be gentle. Plastic threads will hold up as long as you don't overtighten the screw and use proper length, and provided it's a decent grade plastic to begin with.
