| Upside Down Stand, Or Maybe Stand Upside Down
Just curious - has anyone ever seen an RC stand for sale that is designed to cradle a 1/10 or 1/8 scale car upside down for disassembly? I could make something, and probably will, but thought I'd ask.

I've sometimes wanted something like this myself, but I have never seen one.

I just use a couple of 2x2x4" wood blocks. I also have some 4x4x4 blocks.

I like to tinker and build things. I may try to come up with some sort of rack with adjustable sliding blocks that can be moved to fit under various body or chassis sizes and shapes. Last edited by MailManX; 02-05-2020 at 10:59 PM.

Remove beer from cooler, turn upside down, cut to suit. Will also catch the nuts & bolts that you drop taking things a part. patent pending pep |

Just for the fun of it, here are several stands I found that I had not been aware of before. https://www.extremestandz.com/produc...-display-stand https://www.ebay.com/itm/163973449257 https://www.ebay.com/itm/132737964480 Not being a scaler, I had not thought of these RC jack stands, but I can see that they have a lot of potential. There are a lot of variations of RC jack stands available. I may pick up a set. https://www.ebay.com/itm/184080010198 |

First one is nothing more than PVC pipe... Other 2, the one size that fits all but not really well, would be a pain in the butt. Adjustable will always change when stored, and need to be tweaked before use. Jack stands, check what they are made of? Saying that cause, light weight = tipsy. With the latest fad & printed parts showing up all over the place/copied/counterfeited. Stuff may not be exactly what they look like or function as they look, word to the wise. Also noted, NONE are for upside down service as you were asking about ? Supporting the underside of the chassis, & because most of it is lineal . Is easily done, on the flip side )PUN intended) I would think something that cradles what is being held a better option Just a casual observation. ' The PVC was a good idea. Build it big enough, so as you could have a soft/cushioned cradle to flip the model for the servicing. pep |

As JackTheRipper said, you could create one from PVC pipe.

2 pieces of plywood 16" long 5" high maybe 3/8 thick with small holes drilled for the axle shafts to go in to bolt the plywood to the axles poof sturdy stand for ether right side up or upside down you cod even get fancy and router the edges and cut nicfty patterns in to the plywood to make them look like something other than just pieces of wood |
