Sounds like they're still planning on it. I'll have to take a look at the Cameo. Thanks Jato!

No problem! I chose the Cameo because you can import files created from any software or even those you download from the internet. At the time I made my decision, the Cricut didn't allow that or it wasn't easy to do. I'm not sure if that has changed. But the subscription fiasco is another good reason to avoid Cricut IMO.

Ok, after reading through this thread we decided to to switch from our Brothers cutter to something a little more user friendly. It seems after reading what you guys have had to say and just a little time "Youtubing" we picked the Cameo 4. If Tim thinks it's good for cutting stickers and painting mask that's good enough for me. Plus Marcia did a ton of research to see if it would work for her paper cutting needs. Thanks for all the input guys!
Ernie
PS: Found one on Sale for $274.

I have been using the Cameo as well. I have nothing to compare it against, but I have been pleased with it.

Same here. You can scan your body panels and transfer it to the Cameo program then actually scale your make or whatever to fit just right. Then move the panel outline over to cut them.

Here’s a simple two color I did. Multiple colors would be just as easy to do.

Scanning in the panels is a nice idea. Would definitely be ideal for more involved layouts.

I like what you've done with your Bomber BW. I remember when you were stenciling your rig a few years back. Time flies...

No doubt. Time has been flying and dragging at the same time.

I think I will use it more for making stencils for painting than for making stickers.

Those are cool smog, I may need to ask for advice on different set-ups once we get it up and running.

A lot of new ideas for me here. Being new here, I have already discovered a lot of precious information and this thread I am also adding to my favorites. I am from https://worldpostalcode.com/united-states/alabama/. It is great we can exchange ideas so easily being located in different corners of the planet. And where are you all from? I guess most visitors are from the US?

Default Vinyl - Cutting, Decals and Paint Masks

I actually have my wife cut stencils for me to fix to aluminum sheet for prototype parts. Instead of my chicken scratch, I like it.

Edit: she has a cricut maker. Cuts card stock pretty nice.

I've been using an older Cricut that I bought for $100 a couple of years ago. I love the thing with one exception - it is incredibly and almost unbearably noisy. I've taken steps to quiet it down but short of a dedicated enclosure nothing helps. Other than that, once you get past the learning curve, it's a great tool to have. I've considered upgrading to a newer model but they all seem to be noisy and annoying so not going to invest any more until they quiet the darn things down!
