Should be fine, As long as it’s still flat, no warpage. Use a straight edge to confirm. 3” blue painters tape, edge to edge will work as a print surface. I replace mine as needed, usually gets ripped when I remove prints with the spatula.

Ok, cool. Still can’t figure out why the print isn’t even touching the bed. Is there a setting in Cura that adjusts the Z Axis height?

Did you dry your filament before use? Makes a big difference. Squash may be off, try offsetting your Z axis, or adjust height by leveling knobs.

Another thought when I installed my Cr20pro I did have to set the print plateZ height in the first step as it is self leveling, not sure if you’ve done that on your model.

This may be the problem. I normally keep it in a ziplock bag with a silica pack since the air is full of moisture here, but I left it printing overnight when it failed so this might be the problem. How do you reckon I go about drying it?

What I learned is most of my initial issues were caused by my lack of understanding the process, and adjusting things that were proper.

My biggest chang for consistently producing prints is my PID tune numbers. They vary depending on my filament brand I use 4 different tunes, all for specific types. 1 is for ProtoPlasta PLA, 2 , ProtoPasta carbon 3, tpu’s and ,4 ,
PETG

Yeah, I’m trying to learn it and not rip my hair out at the same time!

How do you like the ProtoPasta PLA? I think I want to try multiple different brands and see which one I like best.

Printing a heat tower now! I think the Z Axis plugin helped, I just left it a 0mm though, so I don’t know if it did do anything.

Love it. I print primarily PETG, but this can be annealed I’ve been satisfied.

Half the time it sticks to the bed, half the time it just balls up. Still not sure what’s going on. I think I’m going to put on a new nozzle and or clean the current one and see if that helps.

Default Print not sticking

This may be a stupid question, but on the back left leveling knob, I have to have it twisted all the way up to be level. Does that mean my bed is warped or something else going on? The other 3 knobs are relatively close to the same. (Reference picture below) I used a straight edge and it’s not perfectly straight, but it’s very very tiny decline in the middle of the bed. Also, when I hit print, all fans except the power supply fan shuts off.

Arrows are to show where the springs are in the picture

If you want more compression on your springs to make the bed more stable, go ahead and do so, then adjust the location of your Z limit switch accordingly.

The plate that the knobs go through may be slightly bent, making one spring less compressed than the others. Not sure that's a big deal so long as all 4 springs have preload on them and the top of the bed is level.

Ok good to know. This is my first printer so I probably messed up somewhere either when I built it or in the slicer. I haven’t found anything in the slicer yet though.

I'm a newb too, but I do remember having to mess with my Z switch height when I built it. Make sure there isn't any play in your Y axis rollers (beneath the bed) also. Mine was really sloppy on the guide rail out of the box.

Something bad is going on inside because the filament won’t come out of the Bowden tube, or go any further. I’m going to take the Bowden tube off and check it out. Will have update shortly.
