Budget Tabletop 110v Tig Welder ?

I might be dreaming but i am in search of something on the cheap end to get started.

110v and compact, really dont want something multiprocess.

Anything someone has had experience with ?

Thanks.

For what we do, I'm not sure you're gonna find anything. Probably the spec that you are most interested in would be start up amps. I know with my Lincoln unit the start up current is 20amps which may be tough with thinner tubing some people try to make cages out of.

I spent years welding - stick, mig and tig.

For really thin / small material I have never seen a cheap tig welder that would do it.

I have been out of that career for nearly 15 years (wrecked my right wrist) but back in the day the tig machine I used on the=in sheet metal (aluminun and steel) probably cost about 10 -15 grand all in.

Something to potentially consider - using your dryer plug with an appropriate cable.

Thanks for the input guys.

I ended up purchasing stuff to braze and am enjoying it so far.

Brazing is sweet for this stuff.

FYI, brazed aluminum doesn't seem to hold up to any stress at all. Tried doing a bumper with aluminum rod, joints broke pretty easily.
