I might be dreaming but i am in search of something on the cheap end to get started. 110v and compact, really dont want something multiprocess. Anything someone has had experience with ? Thanks. |

For what we do, I'm not sure you're gonna find anything. Probably the spec that you are most interested in would be start up amps. I know with my Lincoln unit the start up current is 20amps which may be tough with thinner tubing some people try to make cages out of.

I spent years welding - stick, mig and tig. For really thin / small material I have never seen a cheap tig welder that would do it. I have been out of that career for nearly 15 years (wrecked my right wrist) but back in the day the tig machine I used on the=in sheet metal (aluminun and steel) probably cost about 10 -15 grand all in. |

FYI, brazed aluminum doesn't seem to hold up to any stress at all. Tried doing a bumper with aluminum rod, joints broke pretty easily. Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk | |
