MIP or VP?

Looking for a fresh set of hex drivers, wondering if to go with MIP (yellow handles, not sure if they do others)
Or the Vanquish set, who uses which and which do you prefer?

I’m picking the MIPS, I’ve broken 2 of the 1.5 VP, never a MIP yet

I can highly recommend the MIP drivers, very high quality. Can't speak for vanquish as I've never seen any
Hope this helps

Re: MIP or VP?

I have the VP. Liking them so far. They are pricey but, I prefer the handles over MIP. I have used the for non RC related tasks as well. I am not sure if the MIP have replaceable tips or not but, I like the fact that the VP tools do. As an aside, for 1/4" drivers, I went with Traxxas as they were cheaper and you get more pieces for the money.

Are the tips replaceable in the yellow handled ones? Only reason I am being specific about those is that's what's available for me in the UK.
The VPs actually work out more than twice as expensive to import.

No the tips are not replaceable on the MIP drivers I'm afraid [emoji3525]

I’d be shocked if any MIP snaps. I believe they are guaranteed

Be interesting to hear if anyones snapped one after a few years useage.
If not, I will order them for sure.
I got a little windfall from a shop I am affiliated with yesterday, so treating myself lol.

Haven’t used the MIP drivers yet, but I’ve only ever heard good things.

I’ve used the VP metric hex and nut drivers for the last couple years without issue.

I use Vanquish after snapping a 1.5mm and 2(!) 2.0mm MIP ones. Used my old ass Integy drivers until the Vanquish ones came in. Much more comfortable handles w/ball bearing caps (handles are all the same size) with the Vanquish and replaceable tips. I do know several others who use the MIP ones and love them so I’d suggest get whatever set is more accessible and agrees with your wallet.

Re: MIP or VP?

MIP all the way. If you're not crazy about the MIP handles, or the fact that the tips aren't replaceable, buy the MIP 1/4" driver inserts and a 1/4" driver handle of your choice. Best of all worlds.

Though I can't imagine the MIPs wearing out in any reasonable amount of time-- mine are still so tight in fasteners that it's often frustrating.

MIP 100%

Ive only replaced one screwdriver in 20 years of using MIP products and that screwdriver was lost :) Alos the drill Hexes area must :)

Re: MIP or VP?

I just ordered the yellow handled ones, since they come with lifetime warranty, hopefully that applies to us UK guys, then if anything does go wrong, hopefully it'll be replaced, I don't tend to really crank down hard on my screws, but my EDS and Arrowmax are definitely wearing out pretty good now and tips don't really last long.

MIP sets the standard for great RC tools. I've worn a few out over a couple decades... but that should be expected.

I’ve heard a lot of positive feedback about those. Thought about trying their speed tips.

Re: MIP or VP?

I managed to snap one MIP 1.5 driver by being stupid.

Tools that aren't prybars, shouldn't be used for prying. That especially applies to thin shafts of metal.

The tip was still in sharp shape when the shaft shattered though. Had I not been dumb with it, I'd still be using it, 6 years later.

Great idea! Why didn't I think of that? Now to find a good handle........
