I'm trying to find a source for some raw c-channel steel similar to what the axial and VP frames are made of. I've used up 2 trucks worth of axial frames to make mods to other existing frames and it is getting expensive. it would be nice if the c-channel had the same height but the depth doesn't matter so much.

Use square stock, typically 1/2"x1/2", then heat and bend to shape your rails. Once done patiently cut it in Half with a hand saw in a vice to get two perfectly mirrored rails.
