Best sandable/ paintable filler for plastic parts Guessing it's ABS. SCX24 Deadbolt rear plastic bumper. I'm wanting to salvage it since it's lightweight and has a good shape for the rear of the body. But I want to fill in/ get rid of the embossed Axial logo that's on it. And I want to grind off the tow-hook standoffs. Then lightly sand with some fine grit and rattle-can it. Any recommendations on a good plastic filler that will sand easily ( contemplated JB Weld but hoping there's something else better). Thanks. |
Re: Best sandable/ paintable filler for plastic parts I've used this on hard bodies. Works well. Most LHS have it in stock or have access to it through their distributors. https://www.tamiyausa.com/shop/finishing/putty-white/ |
Re: Best sandable/ paintable filler for plastic parts I've used automotive spot glazing putty, which works really fast. Apoxy with is a plastic like jb weld and sands amazing. Lastly for large gaps superglue and baking soda |
Re: Best sandable/ paintable filler for plastic parts I always like asking questions on RCC because inevitably someone will suggest something that I never thought of or never heard of. Such again is the case with the above replies. I'm going to look into both. Really appreciate the guidance. Thanks |
