Default Made my first cage

Well, I have started my first 2.2 maybe scaler depending on how it looks and such. I just finished my first cage ever. Its not the most complex and I want to add a little bit more to the rear but yeah.

I used 3/16 brake line, and a mini pipe cutter, and some crappy brake line bender I had for my 1:1.

I MIG welded it all together on the lowest setting. I got the joints to come out not as clean as a braze but looking nice. I still didnt like the hard corners of the joints so I bondo'd those up.

Like I said its a pretty simple cage, no triangulation and good stuff like that but I think it looks cool and could withstand a roll real well.

Onto the pics!
Here are my two mock ups

And here is the finished deal, I will try to get a few more pics of the cage in some better light and such.

I dropped the cage before paint thats why it was a little tweaked, I will get a side shot tomorrow of the cage on the D90.

very good looking cage, yes simple but looks clean. I think you will get some good complements on it. I think you should have put it in the 2.2 scaler section. Ask a mod to move it for you, you will get a lot more people to view and comment.

Nice job.

I tried to use my welder but it doesn't seem to go low enough...I have a Lincoln too but can't remember what size now.

I'm going to try the Safety-silv and my torches.

You've got the hard part done now so if you wanted to add some crossbraces it would pretty easy for you.

Keep it up!
