Where to buy Harris Safety Silv 56?

I have been to all the local welding stores around here in my area (Orem, UT), and have not found a place that carries it. Is there an online store that has good pricing and shipping?

contact Harris directly... they will give you a list of local distributors.

goggle harris safty silv.

Matt, I went to the Harris web site and could not find a directory of local distributors. Maybe I was on the wrong web site? I was on http://www.harrisproductsgroup.com/

I have googled Harris Safety-Silv 56 and like searches. I have only found a couple of places that sells it and the cheapest I found it for was $27 shipped. That is with Flux for about $4 though.

Does anyone know of a good online site that sell it for cheaper?

Thorsteenster 07-30-2007 12:04 PM

Call Harris for a local retailer. As you found out, they probably don't have an online list of local retailers. I don't think you'll be able to find it anywhere online cheaper, check the shipping rates too. A couple of places I found had high shipping costs.

mrpink 07-30-2007 12:05 PM

yeah, you have to email them or call them. they are really good about responding to emails (at least the fews times I have contacted them)

make sure you get flux when you buy the braze.

ram welding on line sells 56 and 45.

But $27 shipped isn't a bad price.
I paid like $22 for mine and it was local pickup.

Thorsteenster 08-02-2007 02:23 PM

I found RE Michaels has them locally for me. I'm going to try to get buy soon and get some and see if they have Harris Al-Cor. I'll post a price when I get it.

mrmaxxman 08-03-2007 06:14 PM

my work gets it from the local welding supply store......

Thorsteenster 08-18-2007 10:00 AM

Well my local place didn't have the 56, although when I called they said they did. The 45 was 31 bucks so I'm just going to buy it online.

Yep, that would work.
Here is the rod I ordered for a few bucks more:
https://secure.ramweldingsupply.com/...ew.mcic?s=1423
This flux comes with the application brush attached to the cap:
https://secure.ramweldingsupply.com/...ew.mcic?s=1544
No big deal if you already have a brush.

thanks. I did my last tuber with 95/5 solder and it was tough. The local welding supply store wants big $$$ for this same stuff. I normally try to help our local economy, but gotta look out for # 1 sometimes. Thanks for the Ramweldingsupply tip fellas.

SACCO 08-23-2007 08:25 AM

Renslipevol 08-23-2007 08:52 AM

Find yourself a Refrigeration parts dealer....they will have all kinds of flux
