i have graduated

i have graduated from a hacksaw to a delta band saw!! and a craftsman 8" drill press!!

so it might not seem big, but i hate the hacksaw. it takes so long to cut crappy edges. just thought i would share this little fact before i bury myself in the shop whilst i rebuild the maxx and clod.

Congrats! Your getting fancy on us now! :)

I too graduated from dremel/hack saw to a 4x6 bandsaw and drill press.

I love my band saw. It makes cutting metal so much easier, faster, cleaner, and more precise.

Although I went the cheap route and got a Harbor Freight bandsaw and a drill press from Big Lots, but they still work great!

Now I just need a tubing bender. (for 1:1 stuff)

yeah new tools are nice... just got a 10" ryobi drill press and a 6" ryobi bench grinder.. makes life easier  next is the bandsaw, then mill and lathe ;-)

i just cut up some angle aluminum. it took less than 30 seconds per cut. cheap aluminum...

triaxmaster 04-27-2005 06:34 PM

wow im really bad off i use a electric scroll saw for wood working... works good on aluminum great on plastic.. makes fairly smooth cuts too...

TwistedCreations 04-28-2005 05:46 AM

yeah you can cut aluminum with your basic circular saw also ;-)

Yea but its best if you turn the blade around backwards .... i have the scar to prove it

I also have to use a scroll saw. Have a band saw just to lazy to find a blade for it.
