| not sure what accutal chassis are made from. It all depends on what you are comfortable working with. Brakeline is a good starter material. For my Tube chassis I use either 1/4" DOM steel or Cromoly. It's the only material strong to enough to park a 1:1 truck on. Last edited by rckjeep; 08-28-2008 at 09:15 AM. |

Most people use 3/16" or 1/4" brakeline from your nearest auto parts store, then braze it.. Some use same size solid rod and weld it

ya use brake line some have a galvanized coating that is best wire brushed off before you braze.

i use 1/8th and 3/16 steel rod then i weld it with a mig welder. the thing about brake line is it kinks up if you bend at a sever angle
