When I bought my first mill I bought these end mills... 2 flute end mills 3/32" 1/8" 1/4" 4 flute end mills 1/8" 1/4" All of the above were double ended and cost me between $6.45 and $14.08 a piece. With these you should be able to start making simple cuts and learning to play with your new toy. Any info you need, feel free to PM me anytime. Good luck, congrats, and have fun. |

if you don't want to buy both 4 flute and 2 flute end mills just go with 2 flute. they do everything 4 flute's can do and you can plunge with them if they are center cutting. try dormer i am pretty sure they have a place in OZ. and unless you plan on cutting hardened steel then i would go with high speed steel end mills. if you want to cut hard stuff. carbide would be best. | I program and run a Kitamura mycenter 3xih with OneCNC . This is a very good CAD CAM system from Australia. I think they are in Brisbane ? they are on the internet of course.

| Sorry bout that. You will probaly be cutting Alluminum and plastic most so use HSS "High Speed Steel " 2,3,or 4 flute endmills." I HIGHLY RECOGMEND" going to the Machinist Handbook website and finding the proper cutting speeds and feeds. There are sections to help you figure out how many SFM " surface feet per minute " to cut differant material at. As for a vender go to ENCO or J and L industrial supply. Both are on the internet. And most importantly my dad always said " Keep your fingers out of there!"

| The LOC is the length of the cutting flute. It DOES NOT mean you can cut that deep all at once ! Rule of thumb on depth of cut is 1/2 the dia of the endmill. That of course is dependant on the material and how ridgid of a setup you have.
