Help on Flux My flux ( harris safety x?x?) is watery milky on the surface and below is very solid. I tried mixing together a bit but when apply on material and apply heat it burns on like a crust What am I doing wrong? I have watched videos of brazing and read Jay's brazing intructions, it looks like it should be so simple. when I silver solder is it a peice of cake. Thanks |
My personal experience, the flux dries out over time if it sits. I add some water and mix it up real good and it's as smooth as butter, goes on good and burns good...maybe try the water. |

I also try to use bottled water when liquifing the dried flux. |

my joints sometimes have a white crust on them once they cool. quick wire wheel or a brillo pad and all is normal again. one small can of flux should last you about 12-15 t.o. of braze. stuff lasts forever. |
