| Tube Chassis design program
Just saw an ad for this Tube chassis design program. It is for a 1:1, but it sure looks like it could be used for our scale chassis too. I have to take a closer look at it. I did look at some of the many demos and it looks like a simple program to use.. Check it out. http://www.2020softwaresolutions.com/prod04.htm Video demo link http://bend-tech.com/video/simple_as..._assembly.html and another http://bend-tech.com/video/custom_3d...tom_3d_02.html Steve Last edited by steven9026; 12-20-2007 at 12:01 PM. |

How is the software? Is it well made? Stable? Does it have a steep learning curve?

CSPYY, Great looking Crawler. Keep us posted on the build. I'm thinking about getting the software to do my tube rigs. I wanna build several scale jeep chassis. What is your opinion on using it for this? Steve |

That software is ok but it doesn't really help you figure out problems. I have drawn several in SW and although it does help the fabricator a little. Solidworks allows you to cycle the suspension to see if your links or shocks will hit the chassis. In general though, designing tube frames on the computer is a huge waste of time (in the RC world). |

With most of my builds, there are two sometimes three other chassis's that have been built working all the kinks out. Nice SW Harley. p!nK | |

i just found this thread in a search and thought i'd add what i use to design my tube frame....it not a high priced program and it only cost me 10.00 bucks at wally world....imagine that ....here are some drawings i did with it to get the basic shape i'm looking for in a tube frame....the first one is what i started with....the second one is what i redesigned it by clicking on a line then moving the end points of the line to where i wanted it.... as ya can see it's nothing to hop up and down bout but it works for what we need it for without being overly complicated to learn and use....i learned to use it in 20 minutes..................bob .... |
