DIY CNC Machine...???

I've searched and found nothing on this site regarding this so I thought I'd throw it up. If it shouldn't be here please remove. (Like I had to give permission for this to happen)

So I've spent way too much already. Don't want (or have) to spend another *** load to be able to build my own stuff.
So I went searching around for a more cost effective alternative and stumbled across this.
Edited tonight - The guy builds it out of galvanized pipe, plexiglass, aluminum channel, stepper motors, and all thread.

It shows how to construct the machine portion of a CNC set up. I'm sure the accuracy, speed, power are no where near a commercially availabe unit but neither is the cost. This part should be pretty inexpensive. You can get the CNC software for free or cheap. Now to find out how to interface the machine and software...

So what do you think about it?

Go there:

Do a search on Joe's CNC

It's free plan for a real popular DIY CNC.

For the motor and interface, new it's around 400 USD + computer

Need a good dremel too

That looks like an awesome machine. I think I would need a CNC machine to build that CNC machine.

Gonna look at it some more later. The huge pile of presents is calling my name.

May your chassis be stiff, lines be true, suspension work great and tires stick like glue. Merry Christmas.
