Brazing in the cold

I have never brazed before and I was wanting to for my winter project. During the day it about 30*F here, is it too cold? Would it take longer for the silver to heat up?

The only thing temperature will affect is your toes. I braze out on my deck year round and rather like having a snow drift on hand to toss a fresh joint into to cool it off. Just keep your torch protected from the wind and you will be golden.

Thanks, what do you braze on, a sheet of metal?

Normally my tubes never touch the surface I am working onas they are being held by a vice or some other device. Aside from that just a piece of disposable particle board.
