Cool Project E-Maxx 8x8 *update*

Hi there!

Iīm already working on this project since June 22nd and now itīs time to present it here...

Klick 4 gallery!

Itīs very huge and heavy. Measurements? Length overall is about 103cm (40,55 inches) and the weight seems to be over 8850g...
But the two TruckPuller seems to have the punch to move this monster...

Iīm using for the transmission as written above two LRP TruckPuller 2 @7,2V and 76/12 at the original 2-speed gearbox. ESC is a Jamara NoLimit with a seperate receiver-battery. This battery also feed the two steering servos (HiTec HS-645MG) directly with power.

I have a question: Does anyone know where I can buy the alloy version of this 2-axle diff-housing?

Manuel

PS: I know this is not the usual kind of crawler but it have some good crawling abilities with the high transmission and the two locked rear diffs...

All I can find are these

Not sure if that was any help, but maybe you can figure something out with them. I'll notify you if/when I find some of the 2-axle ones.

Itīs not broken. Iīve cutted 2 sets of diff-housings in half and glued them together, to get this 2-axle housing...

@body-talk
You might have noticed the one body-holder at the rear end of the truck. This is still experimental because I plan to cover the rear end with aluminium plates...

The new stuff:

Klick 4 gallery!

The two TruckPuller does have the needed punch and thatīs even enough for rock-crawling... 8-)
Running time with one battery is about 60 minutes.

And Iīd got my Canon A75 with me and made some videos:

Video 1 (16,8MB 00:17)
Video 2 (28,2MB 00:29)
Video 3 (18,7MB 00:19)
Video 4 (14,2MB 00:14)
Video 5 (11,8MB 00:12)
Video 6 (12,8MB 00:13)

Very interesting. I'd love to see it with a custom machined chassis, something that looks professional. But that is sweet. I'd also love to see a 8WD genuine crawler, meaning with 4 solid axles that each have a great deal of rotation. Just insane!!

Top speed? Hmmmmm, something slightly over walking speed. I guess itīs 10-15 km/h or something. Remember that the TruckPuller only spins 6500rpm @7,2V...

Hi there!

There are some news about my "little" crawler...
Iīve shortened it so now it goes better offroad - the old chassis was simply TOO long. Here are the new pictures from the conversion: http://www.manuel-aka-mdk.net/galler...xx_8x8_short_1 (and the following pictures)

And this is what itīs look like now:

Klick 4 big!

I found this pic of something similar like a year ago.

Ok, the videos from posting #10 should work now - iīve re-uploaded them...
But remember this is the long setup! In video #4 and #5 you can see why iīve shortened the wheelbase in the new setup - and because of the gigantic turning radius...

Manuel

@RevoRacer
Thanks!
And I know this 8x8-Mog. AWD and AWS are a great thing...
