I am glad IMEX made them and am excited to try them but a "Swamper" style tread just looks better to me. In my 1:1 experience the Swampers have always werked better in the rocks.
Like I said, I caint wait to try them though.

I Have Maximizer Beadlocks With Swampers On My Other .15 T-Maxx.
I Love Those A Lot. Great On Rocks And Mud. Stirr Up Quite A Mess Though. They Grab Everything And Throw it All Over. Theyre Wild Tires.

In 1:1 Swampers work better than Krawlers?!?!?!? What in the hell are you smoking, pass it over here it must be some good shit!

I wonder why there are currently not even 1 set of swampers being used on a 1:1 professional level crawler? Maybe you know something the pros don't?

Like I said, in my experience.
I never ran a comp but on the trails I have done Swampers werk better than the other tires we have tried or that we have seen other people try. Now, to throw fuel on the fire.
If Krawlers werk better than Swampers it aint because of the tread design, its because of the compound. And yer right, I may know some things better than the pro's, or maybe not, I have wheeled with alot of those guys in the past and I dont consider myself less knowledgeable than them.
EDIT: Oh yea

I got my K-Rocks Today so I will have to see how they work the compound seems to be satisfactory but I havent used them on the rocks yet so will have to see. I am sure they will kick all over my stock clod tires I have been running.

Check out the rules under contingency prizes. If I got paid $1500 for winning an event on BFG tires theres no way I'd run Swampers either.

SWAMPer, KRAWLer

^look at the names. Swampers were designed from the ground up to be a tire for mud bogging. Krawlers were designed from the ground up for rock crawling.

BFG's have been made it numerous compounds, we have run 3 different compounds. The hardest ones (DOT) are harder than any swampers I have seen, and still work way better on the rocks than swampers.

Swampers have 0 lateral stability, you cannot get them to hold there line on a side hill for crap.

Yes BFG pays contigency for running their tires. So does Maxxis, Toyo, and I believe goodyear. A very small % of people run those other tires, even with the contingency they pay you are at such a disadvantage running those tires it isn't worth it.

They don't pay for 'em. And if you pay 'retail' for a set your outta your mind! I crawl with my siped TSL's, they work on the slickrock and handle ledges great.

90% of the competitors do pay for their tires, and still choose to run them. As opposed to last year BFG really cut back on who gets free tires, and yet everyone still seems to use them.

They are the best tire for competition rockcrawling, period.

Look at all the vehicles that compete, they all use different engines, trannys, axles, chassis configurations, ect because everyone all has different ideas on what works. When you get to tires, 90% of the rigs use Krawlers, because we know they work.

I have been into "rockcrawling" since Randy Ellis was driving his green/black CJ5 with spring over Wrangler leafs and a circular saw blade on the hood, back in the early 90's. Back then then only tire that could survive the hardcore rock trails like Woodpecker, the Hammers, Kong, etc, on a regular basis were Swampers. Swampers made hardcore rockcrawling what it is today.
They may not be a better competition tire than the Krawlers; some of the competition stuff is the most insane stuff I have ever seen and I could never dream of doing in my rig.
but to suggest that Swampers are not a good rockcrawling tire??!!!!
Better pass that back Jason cuz I think you had too much!

as for the swamper krawler debate the winner is...........giant tracs

every one that competes around here is using the swampers of course you have to work them to get em better. The only thing that does better are the discontinued giant tracs

How right you are Chafey. The Giant Tracs are prolly the best performing rock tires right now with the JumboMaxx Swamp Dawgs (cut) close behind. At least from what I have seen so far in the comps.

If the KRocks end up being as good as the Giant Tracs that would be great, I just don't want to have to buy discontinued tires off EBay.
