so your installing the nitro motor back on it? |
Looks like he has a motor plate on it. A Nitro motor would be silly up that high. |
yeah I know, but he said his Tmaxx :? I was wondering, I wouldn't put it past some people to keep nitro  |
nope no nitro engine going back on it. i have a integy motor on the way. i still have some work to do to the motor mount. i got most of it cut but still have to do some fine tuning. i was thinking it sits kind of high. it's about 5". i think if i want it to sit any lower i'm gonna have to reposition the shock mounts on the chassis. i said t-maxx because that's what most of the parts i used are from. i had one a while back. got rid of the truck still had a whole tool box full of parts |

fits nicely in the corner and gives it about a 1/4 to 3/8" all the way around the ESC. stuck it to the top of the box so if any water does get in the box the ESC will sit above it and not in it. i do plan to use pastic dip on the cover to help keep water from leaking in http://jackyl.homestead.com/files/crawler/Escbox~1.jpg |
http://jackyl.homestead.com/files/cr...ctrics_top.JPG Titan motor and Hitec RX are only for building purposes. i have an integy motor and a Traxxas TQ3 radio i plan to modify for 4WS |
finally got the pic thing figured. now i'll just post pics instead of linking you to my site. woohooo!! |
You can't post pics directly without a purchasing a star. You will have to keep linking. |
yeah he will link them from his site and not have a link for us to go to his site  it's coming together.. keep it up |
Have you finished it up yet? Like how you mounted the motor, I am going to do the same thing. What did you use....a piece of angle or something? Chad |
actually the crawler went on pause for a little while. i did some modifying to my Mammoth (post some pics this weekend) while i was waiting for a bunch of parts for the crawler. just put it back on the bench this morning. gonna chop off some excess wieght and finish her up. few more links to make and mount, the motor to finishand wait for the 2.2 moabs. the mount is just made out of a piece of 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" aluminum angle. cost me like $9 at local hardware store. i noticed however that it seems to be bent a little more than 90 degrees. causing the motor to be kicked off at a angle a little bit. not sure if it happened when i cut it or if it was that way when i bought it. i cut it with a hack saw so i might have bent it then. anyways, just make sure the piece you buy is at a 90 degree angle. if it is off you could end up chewing through spur gears or pinions. should have some more pics soon........ |
Yeah, it's not hard to bend that aluminum angle. I have some 3/16 x 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 aluminum angle laying around that I'm going to try. If my tekin ever gets here then I'll finally post up some pics too. Chad |
