I think having the best of both worlds will be just what will keep me running it for awhile.
Good luck with the build. Let us know how it turns out.

I'm running mine in a Tough Truck style comp this Sunday.

It did well. It was fun as hell to drive in this contest. It was at its best in the truck pull, slalom, long jump and hill climb. It did as well as any of the other trucks in the teeter totter, recovery and tire change. It did better than many in the obstacle course and frame twister, but was a bit big.

Nice truck and you have done a lot of work to it, I remember when the article came out on this truck.

Have you ever considered a different body? I seen a video a while back, but I can not find it now, and it had a HPI 1979 Ford F-150 supercab body on it and it looked really good.

I took my 1.10 Summit body and set it on my Wraith , the body is a little long , didn`t look to bad for an SUV 4x4.

Hello,
I saw you new video, loved it!
I was wondering what foams did you finally choose, and what foams is your Summit wearing in the new video.
Overall a simple but great build!

If you need an idea to continue the LT build check my Traxxas Summit 1:6

Thanks.

In the video, I have Pro-Line memory foam, but would love to try a hybrid foam for better high speed handling

I know this is an old old thread but what type of wheels and tires are on this truck? What is the diameter of the tires? I'm doing this conversion to a slash 4x4

The tires are 2.2 flat irons. Forget what rims those were, but the offset is too deep for the Slash. These tires are now on JConcepts Tense beadlocks, which will fit the Slash with wide hexes (like those on the front of the 2wd Slash).

Glad I dont have to bump up a old thread to say how much I liked this idea when I first saw it, very cool to see the old thread of when doing this was still a rather new idea.

To get a better scale look try the yet body complete on ebay for 75.00 free shipping. It will look better and less rubbing in the wheel wells and in the ruff stuff.

Thats the point! you have something different than everything everyone else has. And if your using it in comps the points for interior should be enough to want to do it.

True I see your point, you could pull off a KOH style build using a yeti body. I havent ever got into that scene but that really does fit a summit LT well, be able to use low gear and lockers for crawling and then next minute be in 2nd and flying out through the desert lol.

I've done the conversion on my summit and like it very much. Kept the stock motor, running brxl now. Locked rear diff at all times. Running a y-harness so when in 2nd the front diff is open. When I shift down into 1st it locks front diff. Using a single JR 400oz servo for steering. Topped it off with F350 crew cab body.

Very cool build idea, makes the Summit a little narrower like it should be and the Proline TSLs with shortcourse wheels complete the package. I also like the green.
