Default Strange acting tmaxx - working alittle better now

ok today i finally got the tmaxx to start and run. Thats when the problems started. It would only un in reverse. No forward drive. When you would move the controller to forward it just went in reverse. So we got it back and it died while we were looking at it. So we went to try and start it again but the motor output isnt spinning the gear on the end which isnt spinning the tranny gear. i think there i a way that it can be tightened but im not sure. let me know what you guys think is wrong. i have no forward and it doesnt want to turn over and stay running now. Its a .15 maxx with a TQ3.

Sounds like it is hanging. You might try to manually move the shifter, and then play with the throttle to get it kick started. I had that problem and that is how I fixed it.

ok forget what i said in the above post. i got it to run for a couple of seconds. Anyway it idels fairly decent but cant seem to stay running at idle. it dies after a little bit of run time. i think now it comes down to tuning it maybe?? The time it was running the best i gave it some gas and it shut off so im not sure what its doing.

yeah it sounds like it just need to be tuned.

try setting the needles back to the stock position and tune from there.
i dont remember what the stock setteing were though.

how does it sound when you hit the gas?
does it sound like its getting too much fuel maybe, or not enough?

have you figured out the motor output gear (clutch assembly)?
that will be loose no matter what, when it hits the right RPM's the clutch will engage and turn the gears. so thats nothing to worry about.

if its still only running in reverse, it may be just stuck. you can shift into forward and hit the throttle and shift into reverse and back into forward and hit the throttle again, try that for a bit, or you can shift it with your hand while on a stand. it could also be that the servo isnt pulling it out far enough or pushing it in far enough, i dont remember which is forward.

ok well after it ran for those brief seconds i went to try and tune it and now i get nothing at all. just cranks. sounds liek its getting enough fuel and such. the glow plug is nice and firing. i dunno what to do. i set the max speed and throttle position to what traxxas suggests and nothing. so i have no idea whats wrong.
