dual motor summits

i have a summit and looking to maybe run dual motors what all do i need to change and whats pro n cons plz help n can anyone tell me how to or where to find a diagram i got this without radio or receiver and cant find out were the servos go as for in the reciever

I would suggest not running dual motors.
1) heavier truck
2) more torque but not much gain in speed
3) higher center of gravity

I know erevo s run dual titan 550 but they have smaller tires and are built for speed. With the summits 7" tires and heavier truck the two small motors will not do well.
You could do a dual DeWalt set up but that's extremely heavy and will take curves like a dump truck.

If you want more speed and power go with a single DeWalt and use an 18 tooth pinion for more speed (25 MPH)

If you still want dual motors you can get an erevo dual motor plate, or better a brushed emaxx dual motor plate or see Kershaw Designs for a sturdier dual motor plate. But keep in mind 2 motors means more power and less run time.

If you want to you can BUT, like noir said more power less runtime. You won't gain much speed but will gain a bit of torque but at the same time loose runtime.... If you wante more power by dual motors go with the kershaw designs dual 820 motor setup or just keep 1 motor and get a kershaw motor for some more torque. If you want lots of power you could go brushless but we know how lots of them work out......

Buy a kershaw deisgns motor for the summit. A lot of people run them as they give more torque and are quite cheap for such a big motor.

If you buy a Kershaw Design motor be sure to get the 820 motor (DeWalt) not the 700 ( 775 titan customized) the 700 is basically the same as the stock summit motor with a few extra winding for a "slight" increase in performance.

Just buy a Dewalt . You will be surprised how CRAZY powerful that motor is. Sturdier than the stock motor, rebuild able, able to gear it higher for more speed without if burning itself to death, waterproof and enough torque to build skyscrapers in New York. As your friendly neighborhood mechanic what type of drill he uses - " but yerself a DeWalt and ferget-about-it"

how easy is it to convert i have a dewalt i can get for cheap in a drill can i leave everything else same

the best way to get the dewalt set up is Kershaw designs. They have them ready to go. All wired up, and ready for the pinion gear to be mounted.

I run the Karshaw set up for many years ,mine is the 700 series ,I run twain 775 traxxas motors , it is very hard on axle shafts , I run in snow and mud , when the extra snow and mud stick to the tires the extra load and extra power ,something has to give , this is something else to think about
