Dewalt gearing

I'm planning on doing the single motor dewalt conversion and was looking for some gearing opinions. I was thinking maybe 14/62 to get a little more speed but still able to crawl pretty well.

Re: Dewalt gearing

I kept the original spur gear on(68t) and changed my pinion to a 18t. Gave it a few more mph and still crawled with no problems at all.

I stuck with 14/68, but went 5s to gain speed. If you're running the stock batteries, I'm sure 14/62 would do just fine.

i'm running 2s 50c gens ace 5000. It's amazing the difference lipos make in a summit over stock batteries. How would 14/62 compare to 18/68 like jimmy1971 is running ?

Re: Dewalt gearing

For what my 2 Cents is worth, I am running A 14.4V Dewalt with 2Cell lipos. The gearing I am using is a 56 Spur Gear and a 18 Pinion. It still crawls Great and is PLENTY fast. I would to recommend to just play with a few gear set ups and see what you like.

How hot does your speedy and motor run with that gearing ?
What sort of use do you give it , real hard work bashing / lots of slow speed stuff / mixture ?
